Now, let’s head north to the desert and check out a very special place.

We will find here a roadside attraction most people haven’t heard of- a very special memorial garden for the victims of the Chinese Communist Party.
When traveling on highway 15 between California and Las Vegas, there will be unusual site of a giant cup of ice cream sundae called Eddie’s world: a nice pit stop to fill up on gas and get a nice cool beverage, or something sweet to eat.

South of Eddie’s World is huge space called Liberty Sculpture Park. It’s a park dedicated to show the human desire for freedom and condemn the oppression of the CCP.

In the year 2017 Weiming Chen and a group of friends bought this 36-acre hot dry desert land. Being a Chinese-born dissident, his sculpting has transitioned this bare land into a great picture of the trials and tribulations that China has endeared; it has the world’s largest monument to the 1989 Tiananmen Massacre.
This park pays homage to moments and places in history and that we never taught in school and are not brought up in everyday life here in American life. Every year Chen adds one or two sculptures are added to the park. It’s a wonderful way to bring to life a tragic event and open eyes to everyone so it doesn’t happen again. So, when traveling please stop off to the side and come appreciate this park.
Directions:I-15 exit 194. Drive south on Calico Rd for a half-mile until the road ends. At the stop sign, turn right onto Yermo Rd. Drive a half-mile. You’ll see the Liberty Sculpture Park entrance sign on the right.
